We partnered with Heineken to co-design and deliver a one-week immersive program containing “stretch encounters”, designed to push participants to explore the outer limits of their potential. Learners took part in an award-winning simulation, designed to help them step up in their career and building foundations to taking more risks throughout the week.

Heineken is one of the world’s largest independent brewers, with a 150-year proud history as a family-owned business. Specializing in beer brewing, cider, and low and no alcohol drinks, the company strives to build globally loved, sustainable brands. The Challenge

Over the last decade, Heineken has grown significantly in scale and complexity. However, ongoing restructuring, culture change, and a threat to their independent status made the working environment very challenging.

Some of these challenges included strict marketing restrictions and government-led duty increases, placing leaders under additional pressure; demands for greater performance with reduced resources; and employees required to go beyond their current responsibilities without support.

In this case study, we look at how the program helped participants embrace a new, more empowered leadership to drive lasting change at Heineken.

The “stretch encounters” in the immersive program really encouraged participants to step beyond the limit of their potential and lay down the right foundation for meaningful risk-taking in business. During the week, learners participated in an award-winning simulation that helped them to embrace their responsibility as Heineken’s agents of change, bringing to life new business behaviors and practicing more empowered leadership. This created a ripple effect across the organization, encouraging a performance-driven and values-based cultural change, and ensuring the company’s global talents were aligned with Heineken’s vision.
